QR Codes – The Future Is Here

I have recently learned about the latest in technology marvels, the QR Code. QR Codes, or “quick response codes” are similar to the UPC codes on products that get scanned at the store. These codes hold information, in the case of the UPC it is pricing, product number, etc. QR codes hold information as well, but this information can be a website, phone number, SMS message,or text message. These little codes are showing up on restaurant brochures, store fronts, and even Real Estate signs! The restaurant, store, realtor, etc attaches a website to the code that they want people to go to. This offers instant information and allows the consumer to connect with them instantly if they like what they see.

So how do these things work? It’s actually INCREDIBLY easy! If you have a smartphone, you can view these codes. All you have to do is download a QR Code reader application from you iPhone, Droid, or Blackberry application store. I like the reader software Quickmark, it runs about $0.99, but it’s well worth it, you’ll see. Now because this is absolutely going to be the wave of the future, you need to stop reading, get your smartphone, and download quickmark right now. Then I’ll show you how easy it is to use it. ………………………….. Ok, got it? Now, all you do is open the quickmark application on your phone, a camera screen will show up. Snap a photo of the code below (some phones will snap it automatically, some you’ll actually have to hit the capture button on your phone)

Now that you’ve snapped a picture of the code,  a URL will show up on your phone’s screen. Some phones will automatically take you to the URL, some you’ll have to click on the URL, do so now. Ta-da!!!! You’re on www.ThisDanCan.com! Now how easy was that? I mean really really easy. And really cool, right?! Do your friends a favor and forward this post to everyone you know. They’ll thank you, because it is reported that within the next year, these things are going to be absolutely everywhere. No more websites on brochures or window fronts, instead the QR code will be there.

Have some fun, go to http://qrcode.kaywa.com/ and generate your very own QR codes, then read them with the quickmark software on your smartphone.
